Forum Yamaha FZ8 / Fazer 8

Battle between major bikes manufacturers has shifted for maximotorbikes to naked bikes. Nakeds seem to be less powerful in absolute terms, but for sure these kind of bikes proof to be easy-to-ride, useful, really funny and, last but not least, affordable.

Yamaha reacted to the great success of Kawasaki’s Z750 and Z1000 showing his FZ8 and Fazer 8: a short exhaust, 4-cylinder engine, 780cm3 diplacement, a nice look and not-so-bad performances. As t happened for Z750, Arrow has just released the slip on exhausts for FZ8 and Fazer 8: soon a full system with 4:2:1 pipes will be available.

Silencers range includes:
- Race-Tech diamond-shaped silencers, available in titanium, carbon fibre and aluminium (the latter is available also as Dark Line version, black anodised), with stainless steel or (only for titanium and carbon fibre silencers) carbon endcap.
- Pro-Racing silencer, trumpet-style, in stainless steel with carbon endcap.
- “Works” silencer, with titanium silencer and carbon endcap.

All silencers are street legal with removable dB-killer for race use. Weight reduction is close to 40% with respect to OE system. On the test bench we measured a maximum power of 98.5hp (on the wheel, without the dB-killer): a rela improvement when compared to 94.8hp reached by the standard bike.
Torque is everytime higher than the OE, improving handling and fun.
